Who WE ARE
Everliving God, who didst strengthen thine apostle Thomas with firm and certain faith in thy Son’s resurrection: Grant us so perfectly and without doubt to believe in Jesus Christ, our Lord and our God, that our faith may never be found wanting in thy sight; through him who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
About US
St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Eustis is a vibrant, Christ-centered community deeply rooted in faith, worship, and service. Since its founding in 1882, the parish has faithfully worshipped, prayed, and served God in the Lake County area—and beyond. United as part of the Episcopal Diocese of Central Florida, The Episcopal Church, and the worldwide Anglican Communion, we believe in the historic, catholic, and apostolic traditions of the Christian faith, with Christ as our head.
Our identity centers on engaging, prayerful worship and joyful outreach. As a loving and inclusive fellowship, we offer meaningful traditional services, nurture discipleship, and extend loving service to our neighbors through ministries like the Thrift Shop, community meals, food drives, and pastoral care initiatives. Whether through hands-on community connections or deep spiritual formation, our mission remains the same: to worship God, pray faithfully, and serve both Church and world.
our History
Founded on March 14, 1882, when Friends of the Protestant Episcopal Church of Lake Eustis gathered to establish a new parish, St. Thomas has stood as a steadfast beacon of faith in the community.
The church building, constructed in Carpenter Gothic style, was completed in 1883 and later consecrated in 1890, becoming the oldest church in Eustis. Early parishioners raised nearly all of the funds locally and committed to building for worship, prayer, and service—foundational values that continue today at St. Thomas Episcopal Church.
Over the decades, St. Thomas has remained a steady presence in the heart of Eustis, adapting to meet the spiritual and practical needs of its members and neighbors. Generations of parishioners have prayed, served, and worshiped within its walls, fostering a tradition of hospitality, community service, and reverent liturgy. The church’s ministries—rooted in the Gospel and the Anglican tradition—have grown to include outreach programs, pastoral care, and community partnerships that reflect the enduring call to love God and serve others. This spirit of faith in action continues to shape who we are today.
