St. Thomas offers comfort and care to families experiencing loss, providing compassionate support and helping to ease the practical and emotional burdens that accompany saying goodbye to a loved one.
Find Comfort With Us
Find Comfort With Us
Losing a loved one is one of life’s most difficult experiences, and at St. Thomas, no one walks that journey alone. We offer compassionate support to families before, during, and after funeral or memorial services. Volunteers assist with planning and hosting receptions following services, ensuring that families and friends have a peaceful space to gather, share memories, and find comfort in fellowship.
Our purpose is simple but profound — to serve others in their time of loss with dignity, empathy, and love. Whether preparing food, setting up the Parish Hall, or offering a listening ear, volunteers help lighten the burden of grieving families while honoring the life of their loved one.
Funerals and burials at St. Thomas are offered as a ministry of mercy and hope—open to anyone in need of a Christian commendation to God. If you or your family are in need of assistance with funeral or burial arrangements, please contact the parish office for guidance and support.
Alpha & Omega Ministry
Alpha & Omega Ministry
The Alpha & Omega Ministry helps guide families through life’s sacred transitions, offering compassionate support from birth to life’s final moments.
In times of loss, this ministry works closely with the rector to provide pastoral care, plan funeral and burial services, and ensure every person is laid to rest with dignity, reverence, and love.
The Solemnity of All Souls
The Comemoration of All the Faithful Departed
Every November 2nd, the St. Thomas community, joined by our friends from St. James, Leesburg and St. Edward’s, Mt. Dora along with members of the public, take a moment in the Church’s calendar to commemorate all those who have died in the past year, and to pray for those who mourn. The evening involves opportunities to light memorial candles, anointing and prayers for those who grieve, recitation of the names of those who have died, and those who are on our hearts.
