Our Clergy
Bishop
The Rt Rev. Dr. Justin S. Holcomb
The Bishop of Central Florida is the Chief Pastor of every parish of the Diocese, and maintains Orlando as his See City, with St. Luke’s Cathedral.
The Rt Rev. Dr. Justin S. Holcomb, current bishop of Central Florida, was elected at a special diocesan convention Jan. 14, 2023, and has served as bishop since June 23, 2023. Rector
The Very Rev. Matthew Perreault
As the Bishop cannot be present at each of his parishes every Sunday, he appoints priests to serve in his absence. The title of Rector (one who rules) is granted to priests installed with tenure in leadership of a parish.
The Very Rev. Matthew Perreault was born in Calgary, Canada and the son of a Roman Catholic father and Anglican mother, he was raised in the Pentecostal tradition. He first attended St. James Anglican Church in Calgary at the behest of his grandmother, and even at a young age was profoundly moved by the liturgy.
Deacon
The Rev. Janet V. Clarke
In the Acts of the Apostles, deacons are ordained to assist the Apostles. Today their Order exists to proclaim the gospel and caring for those in need, a role formalized in the liturgy through the reading of the Gospel and leading the Prayers of the People.
The Rev. Janet V. Clarke was born in Manhattan, NY in 1931 and raised attending the local Lutheran church until age 11 when her family transferred to The Episcopal Church. She was confirmed at age 12, and profoundly influenced by her experience of First Communion that year.
our STaff
The Office at St. Thomas co-ordinates all administrative matters of the parish, including especially maintaining records and communicating with parishioners as well as friends and others connected with the parish. The Office is managed by the Administrative Assistant to the Rector who co-ordinates numerous calendars of events, and prepares communications on the Rector’s behalf. Throughout the week several volunteers assist in answering the phones, collating, folding, and stapling worship resources, and generally ensuring that the Rector’s time is spent focused on prayer, pastoral care, study and sermon preparation, and less on administration.
If you contact the office or pop in for a visit when it is open, you will be greeted by one of the office staff or volunteers who may assist you in connecting with the Rector, or anyone else you need to in the parish.

Our Music Ministry Staff
St. Thomas maintains a strong connection with Stetson University’s School of Music, offering students a unique pathway into the world of sacred music. Stetson juniors are invited to apply to serve in two-year positions as Music Director and Organist, gaining valuable hands-on experience in choral leadership and liturgical performance. This relationship provides students with the opportunity to explore the sacred repertoire within a living worship context while bringing fresh talent and creativity to the music ministry of St. Thomas.
Our A/V Team
In 2022, a new audio-visual system was installed in the church alongside major electrical renovations to improve the lighting system. The new camera and sound system generally uses two volunteers to run the livestream and run the sound board provides a clear recording of most major services at St. Thomas. In-person, the modern lighting and sound-system allows excellent quality to facilitate everyone seeing and hearing what is happening. The camera system also allows live-streaming as an aid to worship for those who are shut in or otherwise unable to attend in-person. The recordings also provide an opportunity for guests to get a better sense of what our Sunday worship is like. Copyright permitting, concerts and other special events are also recorded and streamed.

Our vestry
Every year, lay persons in the parish are elected to assist in the leadership and management of the parish. From a secular perspective, the Vestry are the directors of the legal entity of the parish. Within the life of the Church, the vestry prayerfully assist the Rector in leading the parish, providing representation for the whole of the parish to the Rector, and also in providing administrative support for the work of the parish, particularly around finances and financial accountability. The first duty of any Vestry is prayer, as its leadership role involves prayerful discernment of God’s will for the parish as it helps move the parish forward. The Biblical example of David reminds us that it was first his heart for God, and not the skill of his hand, which made him a great king. So too, while familiarity with finances and maintenance can be useful skills to hold, holiness is the greatest asset of any Vestry.
